OBDUKTIO and Caligari Records go way back. It must have been a work day of late 2015 when this server was seized by an album that had been posted on bandcamp with rather grotesque black and white artwork. Intrigued, I heard the racket and was immediately hooked. After our release of their self-titled recording, Holotna followed nearly two years later.
By then, OBDUKTIO's grinding punk had morphed into this brutish, playful and wild 90's Finnish melange of death and grind. It picked so well on so many of their classic paisanos.
Now we've got Ihmiskunnan Viholliset (Enemies of Mankind), eleven tracks of what the band describes as their most "death metal" recording yet. True indeed but their sense of groove, Xysma-like spirit, and distinctively Finnish buzzsaw guitar sound has not left their sound.
