Did you know that the post TRANSGRESSOR without Takashi Tanaka once existed? It was 28 years ago when Takashi moved to the US to study at college, and around the time when he left Japan, I joined UNHUMAN SOCIETY DEATH to play with my old friends Daisuke and Maki, aside from TRANSGRESSOR. I ended up leaving the band soon, but I formed a new band with Aki and Yoshi (ex-TRANSGRESSOR), along with Maki who joined ROSEROSE later. We played this noisy music. The guys were really funny, and are pleasant band mates. We played whatever music and sound we wanted, not to limit the scope, whether it was death metal or hard core punk. That's our style. The name BUMBACLOT is Jamaican slang meaning fuck off, and I chose that word because reggae music was my roots, and it best described my music itself. While death thrash was our basic tunes, we mixed in some grooviness with hard core influences and its spirits. In TRANSGRESSOR, we focused on talking about life from the opposite view of dying or death, you know as major death metal topic, but in BUMBACLOT, I put my individual side in front to talk more about life. Even though we had great fun playing together, the band got split up soon unfortunately. Each member started to act differently, for instance, one of us often skipped practices, one came to practice by car after getting drunk too much, and another one arrived at the studio after crashing his car into the car parked in the front, and he was very angry with the other car owner. Well, the tape is here now with full support from Tanaka Shoten. It contains 6 live tracks recorded live at the first and last show for us in 1995. The show was organized by the band ROSEROSE. Since it was recorded on a cassette tape recorder we had back in the days, and so the sound quality is not good at all, but it is like an official bootleg release, with good live atmosphere. By the way, I put my best effort into writing the lyrics. As I did not want them being shelved or being put aside for nothing, I reused them in the songs for QUENCH, my other band that played groovy and loud rock music. Anyway, I hope you will find something good in this BUMBACLOT sound. Enjoy!
